TOURISM
Exploring the Territory and beyond
Wherever a production takes us, adventure storytelling is at the core of what we do. Filming across remote landscapes and diverse environments, MKH VisualAspect delivers cinematic visuals that present your business, brand, or destination with clarity, emotion, and impact.
Tourism and adventure productions require more than beautiful imagery. They demand an understanding of how to showcase landscapes, wildlife, experiences, and atmosphere in ways that connect with audiences and inspire them to explore. MKH VA specialises in translating these elements into compelling visual narratives that immerse viewers in the location and the story behind it.
Nature and adventure filmmaking is where MKH VisualAspect began, and years of experience have refined the ability to capture powerful, story-driven imagery that reflects the real experiences your audience can expect.
From cinematic showreels and promotional teasers to multi-episode digital series and documentary-style productions, MKH VA approaches every project with professional planning, technical precision, and creative direction.
Clear communication, strong organisation, and efficient production management ensure that each project runs smoothly from concept through to final delivery.
Because in this line of work,
conditions are rarely perfect, but the production always moves forward.
COVID-SAFE CITIES - NATIONAL CAMPAIGN PRODUCTION
For this project, MKH VisualAspect was contracted by Jack Nimble, a production studio based in New South Wales, to film, direct, and produce a two-day shoot focused on promoting COVID-safe cities across Australia.
The goal of the campaign was to demonstrate that travelling throughout Australia during the pandemic could be done safely, while encouraging people to support local businesses, tourism, and the vibrancy of our cities.
Featuring Matt Wright as the on-screen talent, the production required careful planning, efficient scheduling, and a coordinated team to deliver a polished and engaging final product aligned with the campaign’s objectives.
For this shoot, MKH VA was responsible for running the production on location, assembling and managing a seven-person creative team to deliver the project. This included contracting specialised crew members such as a sound recordist, producer, two camera assistants, and a photographer, ensuring every aspect of the shoot was professionally executed.
The project highlights
MKH VisualAspect’s ability to scale productions when required, forming a
professional production team on demand and delivering all requested creative outputs within tight timeframes. It demonstrates the capability to manage
commercial productions, branded campaigns, and collaborative creative teams while maintaining high production standards.
SPECTACULAR JUMPING CROCODILES CRUISE - WILDLIFE IN MOTION
This video was filmed with Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruises, focusing purely on visual storytelling, no interviews, just the raw spectacle of saltwater crocodiles launching from the water alongside the surrounding birdlife and river environment.
Filming in this environment is as much about understanding wildlife behaviour as it is about operating a camera. Working around wild crocodiles, maneuvering boats, and paying customers requires patience, awareness, and the ability to anticipate movement to capture those perfect split-second moments when the action unfolds.
This project was filmed across multiple visits, demonstrating the value of long-term collaboration and building a content archive over time. Returning to the same location allows for the capture of rare moments, improved lighting conditions, and a wider variety of wildlife behaviour, resulting in a richer collection of visuals.
Productions like this highlight how ongoing partnerships between a filmmaker and a tourism operator can produce powerful marketing assets. By consistently capturing high-quality footage, both brands benefit from a growing library of showreels, promotional clips, and social media content that keeps audiences engaged and the experience front of mind for future visitors.
When the footage looks this good, it’s a
win for the production, the business, and the audience watching the wild unfold.
CROCOSAURUS COVE - BEHIND THE BITE SERIES
EPISODE ONE: THE CAGE OF DEATH
When Crocosaurus Cove brought MKH VisualAspect on board to produce a five-episode series titled Behind the Bite, it was an opportunity to step inside the daily operations of one of Darwin’s most unique wildlife attractions.
The series was designed to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how the park runs, covering everything from water treatment systems and crocodile health in captivity to reptile enclosure care and the management of a 220,000-litre freshwater aquarium. At the centre of every story was the park’s commitment to animal welfare and responsible wildlife management.
Throughout the series, we captured the many moving parts that keep the park operating smoothly, highlighting the knowledge, care, and professionalism required to maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for both the animals and the thousands of visitors who come through the doors each year.
One of the standout features of the production was documenting the
Cage of Death, Australia’s only crocodile dive experience. This unforgettable encounter allows guests to come
face-to-face with the iconic saltwater crocodile, and the series takes viewers behind the scenes to show
how the experience is safely managed and how the team works confidently with these powerful animals to deliver something truly unique.
CROCOSAURUS COVE - BEHIND THE BITE SERIES
EPISODE TWO: THE REPTILE HOUSE
Filming inside the Reptile House at Crocosaurus Cove presented a unique set of production challenges. While the park is home to one of the largest displays of Australian reptiles in the world, capturing these animals on camera required careful technical planning.
The environment is naturally low-lit, and the glass enclosures create constant reflections, making traditional lighting setups difficult to use. LED panels were helpful at times, but controlling glare while maintaining the space's natural atmosphere required precise positioning and a lot of creative problem-solving. Achieving the right balance of light and colour was key. Subtle tones were used to highlight each reptile while preserving the exhibit's authentic mood. The process was demanding, but it ultimately produced striking, cinematic visuals.
In this segment, viewers go
behind the scenes with animal handler Alistair, who introduces some of the remarkable reptile species housed within the facility. Through his insights, the episode highlights how the team prioritises
animal health, care, and welfare, ensuring every reptile in the collection is managed with professionalism and respect.
CROCOSAURUS COVE - BEHIND THE BITE SERIES
EPISODE THREE: SALLY ISBERG AND SALTWATER CROCODILES
Filming this episode was both fascinating and educational. Crocodilians have existed for over 260 million years, yet scientists are still uncovering new insights about these remarkable animals. Hearing directly from experts in the field provides a deeper understanding of their biology, behaviour, and the responsibilities involved in caring for them in captivity.
In this segment, Croc Health, we speak with Sally Isberg, owner and Managing Director of the Centre for Crocodile Research.
Sally regularly visits Crocosaurus Cove to ensure the park maintains the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry. During these visits, she also conducts ongoing research on saltwater crocodiles, helping expand scientific understanding of their health, behaviour, and management in captive environments.

EPISODE FOUR: THE AQUARIUM
Filming this episode provided the opportunity to capture a wide variety of visuals, working underwater, above the surface, and through the glass to showcase the many freshwater species on display. Using primarily natural light, we created dynamic imagery that highlights the diversity of life within the exhibit, a reminder that Crocosaurus Cove is home to far more than just reptiles.
In
the Aquarium segment, viewers go behind the scenes with
Tom, the Aquarium and Life Support Supervisor, who explains how the park’s
220,000-litre freshwater aquarium operates. He details the importance of
water quality management, advanced filtration systems, and regular tank maintenance, all of which play a vital role in maintaining a
stable, healthy environment for the species living within the exhibit.
THE NT RECAP SEGMENT - HITTING THE NT
EPISODE 08: FINAL EP - THE SEASON RECAP
This video was produced for The NT Recap, a local program delivering weekly news highlights from across the Northern Territory.
For this project, MKH VisualAspect teamed up with Damian Duffy to create a dedicated segment titled HITTING THE NT. Over the course of one season spanning eight episodes, we travelled to some of the Territory’s most remarkable locations. This video serves as the final episode of the series, bringing together highlights from our eight-week adventure and showcasing some of the NT's best experiences.
Presenting directly to the camera is a skill Damian and I have developed over several years. Our experience co-hosting the Discovery Channel series Legends of the Wild, which premiered worldwide, helped build the confidence, professionalism, and on-screen presence needed to deliver engaging and informative content.
From a production perspective, this series demonstrates how a dedicated online video segment can be developed for a company, organisation, or brand. By combining cinematic visuals, direct-to-camera hosting, action-driven storytelling, aerial drone footage, and dynamic time-lapses, the result is episodic content that connects with audiences, strengthens brand identity, and encourages viewers to keep coming back for the next episode.
